Oh Canada: Canada Day Water Marble

I know, I know.  I have been MIA for too long.  Do I have a good excuse?  Maybe.  Maybe not.  Not really.  Did I stop painting my nails while I was gone?  Nope!  Did I stop buying polish?  Are you kidding me?  In fact, I could be seeing the inside of the “Poor House” real soon.  Anyone care to join me in the poor house because I do not see my purchases stopping soon.  We can set one room aside for just polish!

Today is Canada Day as you may know.  Canada Day celebrations are very similar to the US’s Independence Day celebrations complete with barbeques, fireworks and a drunk Uncle Joe standing next to the keg talking WAY too loud because no one is really listening.  They just want to fill up their red solo cup.  Alright, maybe not everyone has an Uncle Joe but they have seen someone like Uncle Joe at the cookouts they have attended.  Am I right?

To honor my Canadian friends I thought I would create a Canadian inspired manicure.  And so the Canada Day Water Marble was born.

I used two coats of Essie Bone Chillin’ White from the Morticia’s Nails Collection for the base.  To marble I used Bone Chillin’ White with Catrice Bloody Mary To Go.  I hadn’t done a water marble on my nails in ages.  The Catrice may have been a little too thin to marble with but I think it turned out okay.

Did you do anything special for Canada Day?
