Steaming Haute
Continuing with the winter/holiday theme I thought I would serve up a cup of steaming hot chocolate. Sally Hansen’s Complete Saloon Manicure Haute Chocolate to be exact.
I got a huge craving for this polish the first time I saw it at my local Walgreens, but I visited it in the store twice before breaking down and purchasing it. Everything about the name and the color in the bottle made me drool.
Sally Hansen Haute Chocolate is a creamy milk chocolate brown shimmer polish. I had a little problem with the application of this polish but that was more my fault than the polish’s. This time of year is hard on my joints and I wasn’t terribly steady with the polish brush while putting this on my nails. The wider Sally Hansen brushes are tricky to work with even when your hands don’t have tremors.
I didn’t put a topcoat on after applying the polish to my nails but I should have because the polish was a bit “chalky.” I brushed my nail up against a piece of paper on my desk and it left a “crayon mark” on the paper.
I love the color of this polish no matter what flaws the polish itself might have in application or formula. Can someone pass me some marshmallows for my Haute Chocolate?

It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas
The trend in nail polish this holiday season has been glitter, glitter and more glitter. I don’t think there is a brand of polish out there that did not feature some kind of glitter polish in their holiday collection. Nicole by OPI is no exception.
I did some polish shopping a few weeks back and came across the Nicole by OPI holiday glitter collection. I picked up today’s featured polish, Ornament For Each Other. I don’t really get the intended pun but I love the polish none the less.
Ornament For Each Other is a burnished red micro-glitter with subtle flecks of gold glitter for a little added sparkle all suspended in a clear base. Three coats gave complete coverage and unlike most glitter polishes the polish doesn’t dry rough to the touch.
I did not add a topcoat mainly because I haven’t found a topcoat I like that isn’t absorbed by the glitter yet. No matter. After doing dishes twice, cleaning house, baking cookies, and making a few homemade Christmas gifts this manicure is still in perfect shape. Hard to believe? All these pictures were taken after I did all those things I just mentioned.
Nicole by OPI Ornament For Each Other is a very festive polish that is perfect all for those holiday parties you’ll be attending this year.
